Offshore asset maintenance made easy

By utilising pure epoxy resins in a common coating across many offshore asset areas – lifecycle maintenance can be greatly simplified. This reduces downtime, saving time and money.

To meet industry requirements, we now offer the offshore market two high performance pure epoxy uni-primers – Hempadur Quattro XO 17820 and 17870 – that will increase the service life and reduce the on-station maintenance needs of offshore assets.

Our Hempadur Quattro range has already received wide industry endorsement through its application to commercial ships. Now available to the offshore market, these two coatings are easy to apply, fast drying and with a year-round workability, and can be applied to any area of any type of offshore asset, from platforms and drilling rigs through to support vessels.

With a high-volume solids ratio (80%), Hempadur Quattro XO 17820 and 17870 release fewer Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) into the atmosphere meaning less emissions in the environment. Both products are fully compliant with the IMO Performance Standard for Protective Coatings (PSPC) regulations and NORSOK M-501 Edition 6 System 3B approved (for use in water ballast tanks).

Managing Director of Meuhlhan B.V. (leading global surface protection and industrial services company), Guy Tanguy, endorsed the use of Hempadur Quattro XO 17870. Meuhlhan has used the product on the ballast tanks of the semi-submersible vessel Saipem 7000, and Tanguy said:

“The aluminium and fibre pigmented pure epoxy has proven its excellent characteristics. The recoat intervals were very short which made it possible to work around the clock in order to finalise the tanks within the schedule despite the low winter temperatures and high volume solids in the product.”

Hempadur Quattro XO 17820 / 17870 are part of a series of two-component epoxy primer coatings incorporating our patented fibre technology to prevent cracking, improve mechanical properties, guard against impact damage during inspections; and to assist with coating coverage on complex areas.
