Supplying coatings to the Decorative, Protective, Marine, Container and Yacht market segments, Hempel has 25 factories, 48 sales offices and 10 R&D centres all over the world. We strive to create a safe and inspiring workplace that also engages with the local community.
Our Corporate Responsibility work also aims to foster a closer dialogue with our stakeholders, customers, suppliers and employees. By discussing our ambitions within Corporate Responsibility, we hope to build even stronger relationships based on exceptional business practices and ethics.
In 2011, we established a governance structure, including a steering committee headed by the CFO, to ensure commitment from top management and alignment with our business strategy. At the same time, we also went through a process to structure our work within Corporate Responsibility and to ensure we cover all aspects of our business. The process involved representatives from top management and included workshops and training sessions. As part of the process, we analysed our business and identified six focus areas within Corporate Responsibility for Hempel: ethical behaviour, our people, community engagement, procurement, health and safety, and the environment.
